Meeting up in Cyprus: inching closer to a more sustainable Europe

On March 7th and 8th, Nicosia, Cyprus, played host to the third transnational meeting of the GREEN URBAN PATHS project (abbreviated as “G&PS”), a significant initiative approved under the “Erasmus Plus KA220-ADU Cooperation partnerships in adult education” program, identified by the action number 2021-1-DK01-KA220-ADU-000033665 and endorsed by the Danish National Agency. The meeting, facilitated by the Cypriot partner STANDO LTD, brought together the comprehensive partnership network including KØGE BUSINESS COLLEGE (Denmark – project coordinator), YOUTH EUROPE SERVICE (Italy), TQC SRL (Italy), COMPARATIVE RESEARCH NETWORK EV (Germany), and ASSOCIACIÓ EDUCATIVA I CULTURAL BLUE BEEHIVE (Spain). The gathering focused on reviewing progress made on the project’s three Work Packages and planning future steps toward completing the project’s objectives.

The GREEN URBAN PATHS project is tailored for professionals, educators, and facilitators eager to explore, understand, and support the dynamics behind the development of innovative, dynamic, and attractive sustainable tourism paths. These paths aim to significantly enhance the environmental friendliness of the areas involved. The project seeks to foster the creation of pathways for improving tourism skills, making them more accessible in adult education through the use of next-generation digital products (apps and platforms) combined with theatrical storytelling. This innovative approach is designed to develop offerings that promote eco-friendly solutions in the cities of the participating partners.

This initiative underscores the project’s commitment to blending digital innovation with cultural storytelling to enrich the sustainable tourism landscape. By doing so, the G&UP Project aspires to pave the way for greener, more sustainable urban environments that not only attract tourists but also benefit the local communities and the environment at large.
